Tell us a little about your family and ministry background... Olivia and I have been married since June 4, 2005. We are madly in love and treasure each other as husband and wife. I have three adult children and ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. My two younger brothers and I grew up in a Pastor's home. Our parents, now in their later years, have consistently modeled a godly example for their family. What a legacy! After graduating from college and seminary, the Lord guided me and my wife and three children to start a new church and Christian school in Moreno Valley, CA. I served there twenty seven years as the Senior Pastor. My wife Olivia and I moved to Chula Vista in 2005 and have been part of the BVCC family since that time. What do you like most about being a pastor at Bonita Valley? As the BVCC Prime Timers Pastor, I have the part-time privilege of ministering to a growing number of senior adults. Teaching the Scriptures at 10:00 AM every Tuesday morning and helping people apply them to their daily lives is very fulfilling. Offering support during times of health challenges and grief is a significant part of my ministry. My other vocational involvements include helping adults of all ages in the areas of estate planning (living trusts, wills, powers of attorney documents, etc.) and helping people prearrange their funeral and cemetary needs. Other than the Bible, what are your favorite books or authors? A few of my favorite authors are: Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes, and Philip Yancey. What is your favorite movie? TITANIC is perhaps my favorite movie. What music do you enjoy most? Smooth Jazz is my favorite type of music (Kenny G, Gerald Albright, Mindy Abair, Jesse J). What do you enjoy doing most on your day off? Hike, golf, kayak, fish, motorcycle. |
