Tell us a little about your family and ministry background...

My family is great, and I appreciate them very much.
My dad has been a pastor basically my whole life, and now he is my boss :-) You might have heard of him. He's pretty good. I've taught him everything I know. Some how I wound up doing the same thing.
Mom takes care of us all and makes sure we never forget our jackets, because she might get cold. She's a lot of fun to laugh with and watch a funny TV Show or movie with.
Jackie is my only sister, and she is now the executive assistant to my boss. She graduated from Evangel University with a double major in Management and Marketing. She is very talented and capable. And I think she is our family’s retirement plan.
I really received my ministry calling at our youth summer camp when I was 15. During one of the services they asked if anyone felt God calling them into fulltime ministry, and at that moment I just knew beyond a shadow of a doubt what my purpose was. I've been involved with ministry since I was a teenager. I was a youth leader in my youth group, and lead the worship team my senior year. Then in 2002 I went to bible college at CBC in Springfield, MO and graduated with my BA in Biblical Studies. I've been on several missions trips, two to Africa and one to Samoa. They were great experiences. Before coming on staff fulltime at Bonita in April of 2007, I'd been an interim junior high and youth pastor.

What do like most about being a pastor at Bonita Valley?

I love helping people anyway I can.

Other than the Bible, what are your favorite books or authors?

I only read the bible... Just kidding... Blue Like Jazz, The Reason for God, The Purpose Driven Life, The Divine Mentor, and If You Want to Walk on Water You've Got to Get Out of the Boat, are all great books.

What is your favorite movie?

I’ve got more than a few favorite movies, like Jurassic Park, The Lion King, and The Matrix, but I’d say the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy is my favorite.

What music do you enjoy most?

I'm a big music fan. Love going to or watching concerts, and I enjoy writing music as well. I'd have to say my favorite band is U2, and my favorite song of theirs is Beautiful Day. As far as worship music goes I really enjoy what Hillsong does.

What do you enjoy doing most on your day off?

I like to relax at home on my day off, but some times I get together with my buddy Juan and work on some music. I also like catching a couple of my favorite TV Shows on Monday Night (Top Gear and Chuck.) And I might get in a game of Madden.
